Test Prep
PSAT & SAT, ACT, SSAT, HSPT, TACHS, GMAT, SAT SUBJECT Tests Preparation Programs
The program is tailored to each individual student's goals, and it considers his or her strengths and weaknesses. It considers the level of effort and cost that the student and family would like to commit to preparation.

PSAT Preparation- zero to eight hours
Generally students need not spend much time to prepare for the PSAT: usually it does not count; is just for practice; and allows a student to assess where they are at. Some exceptions are: students being recruited for sports where the coaches need to see the results; exceptionally gifted students trying for a National Merit scholarship; and those who want to get a jump on test preparation in order to do their very best.
SAT Preparation- 10 to 18 hours
Typically at least ten weeks at one hour per week of tutoring and two to three hours of homework are necessary to get a student prepared in order to score to their ability. But, the Test is not an intelligence test, and additional preparation will produce incrementally higher scores.
The course prepares the student for each section of the test: math and English/writing.
Although of necessity tutoring is "for the test", nevertheless the techniques, knowledge, and thought processes taught greatly benefit each student in school, college, and later in life.
ACT Test Prep- 10-18 hours
The ACT is similar to the SAT, but includes a science section in addition to the math, English/writing sections of the SAT. Some students say they find it easier (the questions are more straight forward, but the science section is hard), and for a few this is true.
However, most students score in the same percentile. Some focus on one or the other; many students try both. If a student first prepares for the SAT, then they do not have to spend much time preparing for the ACT.
SAT Subject Test Preparation (formerly SAT II) - Chemistry and Physics 5-10 hours per exam
These tests are usually taken before the student finishes the subject in school. Hence, the preparation often includes going over this additional material.
College Application Essay Assistance -
(Sessions arranged on an hourly basis).
This typically entails one hour for one or two essays. During this time the essay can be reviewed for "punch", relevancy, grammar, and style so as make the best impression and represent the student for who he or she is.
SSAT, HSPT, TACHS - 4-10 hours
(Sessions arranged on an hourly basis)
The Secondary School Aptitude Tests, and similar tests for Parochial School, and City Schools are prepared for in a way similar to the SAT. They typically include only math and english. Preparation is based on the particular test and the student's goals, strengths, and weaknesses. Students from third grade to eighth grade have been helped to get accepted to their schools of choice.
GMAT
(Sessions arranged on an hourly basis)
There are four sections of the GMAT exam – Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative, and Verbal. Tutoring can focus on just one or two, or all of the sections. Students normally spend at least 30-60 hours of preparation on their own supplemented by tutoring sessions to clear up and polish their skills in each area.
